The Volkswagen Group (VW Group) acquired Bentley in 1998 commencing an extensive investment program to improve manufacturing facilities and support future product and brand development.
The Continental GT Speed was the first Bentley to reach 200mph (322km/h), with its highly efficient W12 engine delivering 610PS/449kW. The Continental GT Speed was designed to provide a more sporting driving experience, accelerating from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds, with overtaking acceleration of 80-120km/h in 3.0 seconds.
In 2009 Bentley released the Continental Supersports which uses an engine derived from Bentley’s current W12 power unit. The engine in the Supersports is engineered and tuned to achieve 463kW/650PS/800Nm, enabling it to achieve 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, making it the fastest, most powerful production version.
RENM offers performance tuning for select Bentley models, specialising in W12 performance versions. All data indicates performance gains achieved with ECU tuning. Higher gains are achieved in combination with other performance upgrades.
