Ferrari’s ownership of Maserati is a key factor in Maserati’s recent expansion and development of its vehicles. The production of the compact and lightweight (184 kg) eight cylinder V90° Maserati engine occurs in the same Ferrari engine assembly plant. This results in engines that benefit from Ferrari research and development, technology, and component sharing.

The Ferrari developed 4244cc Maserati engines produce over 400 PS of peak power at 7000 rpm, while the 4691cc engines produce 440 PS at 7000 rpm and 490 Nm at 4750 rpm.

RENM offers performance tuning for most Maserati models, specialising in the MC V6.0 V12, 4.2 and 4.7 V8 performance versions. All data indicates performance gains achieved with ECU tuning. Higher gains are achieved in combination with other performance upgrades.
